Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. Creditable specialized experience includes: Evaluating contractor production engineering capabilities, manufacturing facilities, tooling, and master planning schedules to identify cost, and performance risks prior to and during contract execution Demonstrating direct evaluation of contractor design, development, and testing efforts, as well as auditing systems for compliance Analyzing complex performance data trends across systems engineering, supply chain management, and manufacturing operations Conducting Technical Support to Pricing (TSP), evaluating contractor cost proposals, and delivering engineering advice regarding engineering change proposals (ECPs)
