How MyATSCheck Scores Your Resume

Jobkit (MyATSCheck) estimates ATS risk so you can fix blockers before you apply. Here is what the score measures-and what it does not.

The 3 pillars

Parsing accuracy

Can text be extracted in the right order? We flag columns, tables, icons-only contact, headers/footers, and image-based PDFs that break common parsers.

Keyword relevance

When a job description is provided, we compare resume skills and phrases to the posting-hard skills and role terms first-without recommending keyword stuffing.

Formatting compliance

Standard section headers, machine-readable PDF/DOCX, and layouts that survive Workday/Greenhouse-style extraction beat “pretty but empty” designs.

The algorithm (0–100)

Scores combine structure/parse signals with optional job-description keyword fit. A mid score can still mean “parses OK but weak JD match.” Treat the number as a relative signal for one file + one posting-not a universal hiring cutoff.

SignalWhat we look forWhat we don’t claim
ParseReadable text, section orderIdentical to every employer ATS

Our data

Primary sample (2026): n=161 user-submitted ATS resume scans from production Jobkit/DocKit jobs over 90 days ending 7 Aug 2026. Average score 72.2 (range 32–94). Mixed EU/FR-heavy traffic with a smaller US share.

Limitations

  • We do not simulate every proprietary ATS configuration.
  • We do not score soft-skill “personality” or creative portfolio design.
  • Keyword match requires a real job description for best results.
  • Small primary samples are directional-not a census of all US applicants.

Updates

Scoring rules and published research are updated as we ship product changes and new aggregate samples. Check /research for the latest datasets.
